Laura Tsaggaris is a singer and songwriter (6 albums, 50+ songs). She is a native of Pittsburgh, PA, but has called Washington, DC home for over 20 years. She loves to make records, teach music, listen to her children tell her things, eat anything with peanut butter in it, and watch soccer. Laura would like to thank Tim, Phil, Austin, Kevin, Ben, Sara, Maureen, Rochelle, Robbie, Dale, and Steve for their professionalism. Maureen Andary
Maureen is an award winning singer songwriter with fellow artist Sara Curtin and their duo The Sweater Set. Maureen & Sara served as Strathmore artists-in-residence and have performed at the Kennedy Center, 9:30 Club, and the Birchmere. You can see her perform on Fri 12/2 from 12-2pm or Fri 12/9 from 12-2pm at the Downtown Holiday Market!

Phil Carluzzo
Phil is a songwriter, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Film work includes the award-winning, “Astraea.” Recent theater work includes the NYC premiere of “Hart Island” for which his music was featured on NPR’s “Morning Edition”. His solo EP, “Phil Carluzzo Presents: Nicola Maria” was released in January. His band, The Sisters, released their self-titled EP in June. Both are available on all streaming services and on vinyl through Bandcamp. A prolific private music instructor, Phil is also a classroom music teacher for special needs youth in VA.

Sara Curtin
Born and raised in Washington, DC, Sara Curtin’s music was described by Washington City Paper as “a full portrait of a human being: nuanced, complex, and contradictory.” Together, Sara and Maureen Andary are The Sweater Set, one of DC’s beloved folk groups. Since the onset of the pandemic, Sara has taken up many hobbies such as embroidery, roller skating, watercolors, and sourdough. She is also about to release a new EP “Goodbye Forever”! Austin Day
Austin Day is a self- taught musician who enjoys working with a variety of groups in different genres. His band, The Sisters, just released their first self-titled album. He loves Christmas.

Kevin de Souza
Kevin is the principal songwriter for Uptown Boys Choir, a DC-based rock band that features neither children nor choral music. When he’s not confusing people with that bit of information, he’s playing bass for some of the DMV’s finest songwriters, as you can see here tonight.

Claire Inie-Richards
Claire Inie-Richards is a recent graduate from the Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington. She last appeared in Our Town at People’s Light, where she has been a company member since 2015. After earning her BFA from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in the UK, she performed briefly with BBC Radio4 before returning to Philadelphia to continue her career. She has been Barrymore nominated, is a teaching artist, and an over-hire stitcher from time-to-time.

Tim Lyons
Tim is a producer, engineer & multi-instrumentalist based here in Washington, DC. He loves weird guitars, soul singers, left handed relievers, fried eggs, democracy, 80’s movies, and his incredible wife & kids (and sometimes their dog).

JC Mickenben
JC Mickenben is a singer-songwriter and luthier. He has performed at various venues including Marx Cafe, Big Bear Cafe and the Boundary Stone singer/songwriter series, as well as multiple Porchfests and the occasional backup stint as trombone player.

Rochelle Rice
Walking a fine line between jazz and folk, award-winning singer-songwriter, Rochelle Rice lives in between the cracks of hard and fast genre rules. Rice’s versatility and unique skills as a singer, composer, and clinician have allowed her the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s most acclaimed musicians, including touring with the world-renowned women's group, Sweet Honey In The Rock®. Through her work as a Music Education and Social Justice Advocate, she has been invited to present her interactive and intergenerational programming both nationally and internationally as a guest teaching artist and clinician. Her latest work, the Tell Her This Project, is a three-fold music, visual art, and storytelling experience featuring the stories of women of across various ages, cultures and lived experiences from the Tell Her This Podcast.

Ben Tufts
Ben has been a first call drummer in the DMV for over twenty years, having played with hundreds of artists all over the continental US. He's also had the pleasure of recording with many of the region's best. When he's not busy performing or recording, Ben is usually either teaching, in his kayak, on his bike or hanging out with his pet skink.
