LAURA TSAGGARIS
[suh-GAIR-iss]

“Laura is an actual artist, with a genuine talent for writing songs and singing them with conviction.

- Washington City Paper, Nov. 2005

The Pittsburgh native now calls Washington, DC home and is working in support of her first full-length independent recording, "Proof."  The record was a long journey in the making that ultimately landed her in a small studio in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Several five-hour long drives and full days in the studio later, the result is all the proof one needs to see that Tsaggaris is a powerfully gifted emerging artist.

Independently touring with her acoustic guitar and characteristically intimate solo show, Laura Tsaggaris continues to solidify her place within the performance community.  DC Pulse writes, ““With her contemporary and accessible sound you could make the obvious connections to the likes of Aimee Mann, Tracy Chapman, and Ani Difranco.  But make no mistake, this woman has a voice that proves she is an experience all her own.”  Armed with a new backing band for select shows, Tsaggaris promises to continue to grow and bring her brand of rock to new heights.

“Proof” has set a high standard for her future projects, but Laura is up for the challenge and plans to record new material (working title:  “Keep Talking”) in 2007.
